• Parents: Policronio Garcia and Ambrosia Polestico
• Education: Lawyer, Phillipine Law School (Valedictorian); Bar, Top Ten
• Miscellaneous: A quiet and serene career politician; Became president after Magsaysay's death, and then won the election by a narrow margin. His administration was best known for his "Filipino First Policy"; Nevertheless, he lost to Macapagal in the next election. He continued his passion for public service , however, until he passed away 3 days after having been elected president of the 1971 Constitutional convention.
