| The BNL Social and Cultural Club endeavors to build closer community ties between Brookhaven National Laboratory and its neighbors. It promotes, supports and encourages activities for social interaction between BNL employees and the surrounding community through ethnic food parties, outdoor picnics and barbecues, field trips, karaoke sessions, and other social and cultural activities. |

The Club holds weekly Open-To-The-Public dance socials (TGIFs @ Brookhaven) at the North Ballroom, Brookhaven Center, Brookhaven National Laboratory every Friday evening from 7 to 11:30 pm (Cold Heros buffet dinner opens at 7 pm; dance lessons from 8:00 to 9:00 pm, different dance and different instructors each week). The Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory conducts research in the physical, biomedical, and environmental sciences, as well as in energy technologies.
